President's Message

As the newest acting President of the Women's Business Network, I look forward to a great year in the organization! 

To start our new year in perfect style, we had an exciting number of members and visitors participate in our last luncheon.  The restaurant buzzed with endless networking, socializing, exchanging of ideas and support of one another in business.  This is where you want to be if you want your business to grow!  

We are celebrating our 20th year as a volunteer organization and our theme this year is “Building Relationships, Building Your Business…since 1989”.  With a focus on building strong relationships, our goal is to offer something valuable for everyone and I encourage all members to take part in all that the Women's Business Network has to offer.                  

Our new Board of Directors has already worked hard together to plan and organize some valuable and exciting events for our members and we have set our goals high for the coming year.  Some changes have been made to our format to create more learning and networking opportunities for all members and we are planning to participate in local fund raising events to raise our profile in and support of our community.  We have broadened the educational component of our monthly events so that some take place in the afternoon as well as the evening.  This gives everyone an opportunity to attend. 

We participate in our first community fund raiser on October 5^th in the CIBC Run For The Cure.  Our team is Vancouver Is. Women’s Business Network.  We each need to find $150.00 in sponsorship and we need a team of ten people.  We invite all WBN members to join our team.  Go to www.cibcrunforthecure.com   

We aim to have a record increase in our membership this year and with this we need your support.  Let's spread the word about our organization.  I challenge you to invite the most visitors to our monthly events - bring a friend or business associate to a meeting - you never know who might benefit from WBN! 

For those who are not members and would like to learn more about our association, please don't hesitate to contact me or any other member in this great network of business women!  We would love to have you visit us at a luncheon or mixer so that you can see with your own eyes the great opportunities we have to offer you and your business. 

Our first Mixer will be on September 16, 2008 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm at Ambrosia Event and Catering Centre on Fisgard Street.  We’re honored to have  Kyara Kahakauwila from LA Limousines and  Transportation Services as our speaker.   Plan to be there!  Click here to register
